This is a reprint of the Falklands supplement published in 2005 for the FIRST EDITION of Air War C21. It has been reprinted due to a number of requests for copies of this long out of print title. The intention is to update this supplement during 2018 to reflect the latest edition of the rules.  But for now, users of the latest edition can use the content here as a guide. And, as such, its "pay what you want"

Again?!
It just puts me away just reading that.
From the preview: "... argentines called the Harrier "the Black Death"..."
Really???
I´ve been in the Argentine Air Force for 23 years (from 1986 and retired on 2008, I flew Mirage 5 and Pucara) and never EVER found one pilot stating they called the Harriers That way. Not even once, and I am a avid reader of the Malvinas/Falklands war. Also had many many conversations with pilots that flew combat missions in the war. You really don´t know how people is here. It is almost a joke thinking somebody in Argentina would say... "We were shot down by the black Death..."

The Harrier was good, it really was. But of course! It had Radar, argentines didn´t, it had countermeasures, argentines didn´t. Also Argentines didn´t have radar warning, so they never had a clue there was a harrier behind them until it was too late. The mirages III performed well above 20000 feet, but air combat was a lot below that...See more

Sorry, forgot something (related to the 20+ kills). The Harrier had in the beginning of the conflict the rear aspect Aim9J missile, but then the AIM 9M all aspect Sidewinder Missile, the most advanced air to air weapon to date.
The Mirages just couldn´t get in a turn fight with them.
Concerning the countermeasures (an improvised chaff system), in the end, they didn´t need it. Just one kill was in dogfight combat, after that, it was unescorted bomber missions what they succesfully attacked, with the support of ship based radar coverage from combat vessels (like the type 42 DD and many others).

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
